I teach the whole person

I believe learning an instrument extends beyond music. Students develop skills, habits, confidence, and ways of thinking that can influence many parts of their lives, and I believe those lessons should be taught with care and understanding.

Building toward growth

I approach musical development like building a house: strong foundations come first, and new skills are built step by step while reinforcing what has already been learned. I challenge students to move beyond their comfort zones while balancing high expectations with encouragement and compassion.

Making learning accessible

I strive to make learning engaging, understandable, and enjoyable for every student, especially those who have struggled with learning or self-confidence. I want students to experience challenge not as evidence that they aren't capable, but as an opportunity to discover what they can do.

Beyond the lesson

I hope students find connection through their peers, ensembles, performances, and other musical experiences. My goal is not simply to teach studetns how to play an instrument, but to help them become confident, curious, expressive musicians who carry the benefits of music beyond the studio.
